Prana Centres and their Activation

'Chaitnaya Kendra' (the seat of consciousness) exists in various parts of body and plays an important role in practice of meditation.

  1. Gyan Kendra
  2. Shanti Kendra
  3. Jyoti Kendra
  4. Darshan Kendra
  5. Chakshush Kendra
  6. Prana Kendra
  7. Brahma Kendra
  8. Apramad Kendra
  9. Vishuddhi Kendra
  10. Anand Kendra
  11. Tejas Kendra
  12. Swasthya Kendra

In yoga these seats have been called 'Chakras'. In Jain philosophy, the centre or source of Prana is the Tejas Sharir. It is the subtle body that is related to the Karman Sharir. The Karman Sharir is the main source of karmas or sanskaras. To generate power in body, yoga is used as a tool to meditate on these chakras. This helps to activate the chakras and unveil consciousness.
