Chairman of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, said that the religious activities have importance to maintain sustainable peace by building a civilised society.

Addressing a religious programme organised at Naxal-based Balmandir in the Capital on Wednesday, Chairman Oli said the spiritual teachings could be great guidelines to lead the human beings towards the path of discipline.

On the occasion, Jain Guru Acharya Mahashraman said the peace and the society with co-existence is only possible when there was the feeling of welfare of all creatures, stressing the need of ending animal sacrifice in the name of god and goddesses.

“Religion is the means of soul-purification which develops the conscience and religious sentiments. It encourages human beings to lead them towards the peace and right direction in life," he said.

Likewise, Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Ragini Upadhyay, Industrialist Rajendra Khetan, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Dinesh Shrestha, General Secretary of Nepal Children’s Organization Subash Kumar Pokhrel and others wished for the succeed of the month-long religious function.
