Miracle Of Faith: 05 ►Life and death in your hands

Published: 16.12.2019

In Orissa, there is a city named Cuttack. On the dreadful night of 17 Dec. 1982, there was a dreaded silence on the road. A young boy named Prakashchand and his uncle Ratanlalji Sethia were returning from their shop. On their way back, they saw two dacoits equipped with armaments. As soon as came closer they hit Ratan lalji on his head and arms. The road turned red with blood.

The very first attack on Ratanlalji was so severe that his one hand was cut off from his body. In spite of being in such a dangerous and dreadful situation, Prakashchand kept on chanting the Mantra of ‘Om Bhikshu’. In that frightful and dark night, he saw the lamps glowing. Leaving Ratanlalji there, Prakashchand returned to the spot where he had left Ratanlalji and his younger brother and the servant. His younger brother was shocked to see him drenched in blood. Looking at his brother, his face turned pale and tears rolled down his cheeks. He was stunned and speechless.

Though each and every part of Prakashchand’s body was aching severely, yet an unknown power seemed to be favouring them. He was confident and moved forward dauntlessly. He told his younger brother not to worry about him but, instead, help uncle. By the time his brother and servant reached the spot where the incident had occurred, dacoits had already fled away. Both the injured ones were hospitalised. The doctors considered Prakashchand's uncle’s case to be serious and so refused to treat him. They said, “A lot of blood has been lost and now it is not in our hands to save the patient’s life.” The injury on Prakashchand’s head may lead him towards madness and his left hand is so badly damaged that a recovery seems impossible.”

Prakashchand was listening the conversation. Suddenly he spoke out, “O Bhikshu Swami! Where are you? My life is in your hands. You only are my ray of hope.” Saying this he was engrossed in chanting the Mantra. After completing all the ' legal formalities, just for the sake of consoling his relatives, the doctors took the case. On one hand the doctors began their treatment, and on the other hand Prakashchand was continuously reciting his Mantra. Both the operations were successful and the impossible became possible. After treatment for one month, both the patients regained health. This event not only made the roots of faith stronger in the minds of Prakashchandji and Ratanlalji but also on their relatives.'
