Sadhvi Pistaji and her fellow Sadhvis’ chaturmas were in Kantaliya. Two months of the Chaturmas had passed away without any rain. There is always shortage of water in Marwar and one could imagine the pitiful situation when there is no rain. Because of the high temperature, people were not much inclined to be on a fast; neither did the Sadhvis have courage to inspire them to keep fast.
When the ‘Pajusana’ was approaching, the Sadhvi thought of inspiring the devotees in the nearby village at least for Samvatsari’s fast. With this thought, Sadhvi Pistaji, along with her colleague Sadhavi Punaji, started for a nearby village. When they started, there was not even little hope for rain, but before they could reach their destination it started raining heavily. They preached the devotees of ‘Kantha’ region and inspired them for Tapasya (penance). Since the weather was better now, people were preparing themselves for Tapasya. Sadhviji was happy with the response.
But the problem arose when the Sadhvis started their return journey to Kantaliya. They found that it was very difficult to walk because the rain water had flooded the roads. The problem was that they couldn’t stay overnight in Kantha region because of the Chaturmas. Sadhvi Punaji was scared of water. As they started walking against the flow; Sadhvi Punaji started shivering. The situation was becoming worse for Sadhvi Pistaji. She herself was upset and was not even able to keep control over her body. Apart from this she had to help the frightened Sadhvi Punaji.
The devotees requested them that they should be allowed to help Sadhvi Punaji, but the Sadhvis refused. Sadhvi Pistaji was frightened because Sadhvi Punaji could not walk fast. There was a possibility of getting drowned in the waterlogged paths. Sadhvi Pistaji realised that, no one else but only Acharya Bhikshu could save her. She started praying and chanting the Mantra ‘Om Bhikshu’ repeatedly. Being very confident that only he was their saviour, she was praying for help with deep faith and confidence.
Suddenly, a miracle occurred. Punaji started walking faster, even faster than Pistaji. It seemed as if she was not walking, but flying. She walked in that same speed until she was totally out of danger. Once she was completely out of water, She fell down unconscious. Pistaji was still reciting the Mantra, ‘Om ‘Bhikshu.’ She was thanking her saviour Lord Bhikshu from the deepest core of heart, because if they were not out of water, by that time they would have been drowned. After a few minutes Punaji regained her consciousness and reached Kantaliya without any difficulty.
Sadhvi Punaji said, “I don’t know myself how I made it. But it seemed that I was not walking but flying because of some unknown power.”
Though all this seems to be a mystery I am sure that none ‘else but Bhikshu Swami helped us. He was the one who saved us.”
