It was the month of Chaitra. Heat was scorching and the wind was whirling in Rajasthan. Sadhvi Jatankumariji (kanishtha) was going to Bikaner. The route was surrounded by sand dunes. They left the village, Barvas, and proceeded to Samvasara. They were five in number and some of the laywomen followers also accompanied them. The nuns were descending the slope when suddenly, a young boy aged fifteen years riding a bullock-cart, came speedy from back side. Realising the fast moving the nuns moved out of the way but Sadhvi Jatankumariji could not move from her place and the bullock-cart ran over the nun. In that condition, she was not able to utter anything except the Mantra, ‘Om Bhikshu’ The other nuns were shocked and planned, and they all thought that she must have fractured her legs and arms. After a few seconds, the injured nun said the other nuns, “Pick me up, it is no use to create tension in your mind.” The nuns picked her up. The whole body had become stiff but none of her bones was broken. At once they acquired first-aid from the nearby village and this made her feel comfortable. There was severe pain in the body of the injured nun. There were no medical facilities in the nearby village.
All the other nuns requested the injured nun, “Kindly get back to the village, Barvas.” But Sadhvi Jatankumariji replied, “I am alive because of Swamiji’s name and I will take the medicine in his name only.”
Sadhviji became well in a few days. If a Bullock-cart crosses over the body and still one doesn’t get injured, this is the result of the grace of Swamiji.
