Some people accept initiation, being awakened in the middle period of their life.

Bhāṣyaṃ Sūtra 30

Some people awake and accept renunciation in their middle age. In the fifteenth sūtra, it has been prescribed that renunciation is possible in all the three age-groups. That is the general rule. In the present sūtra there is the prescription of a particular age-group. Ordinarily people get renunciated in the middle age-group. This is why, according to Cūrṇi, the middle age-group has been mentioned.[1]
