9.4.9 gāmaṃ pavise ṇayaraṃ vā, ghāsamese kaḍaṃ paraṭṭhāe.
suvisuddhamesiyā bhagavaṃ, āyata-jogayāe sevitthā..
He entered a village or a town for begging food that was prepared for others (householders). He accepted the food that was immune from blemishes. He would eat with his impulses fully restrained.
Bhāṣyaṃ Verse 9
'Begging food' is threefold viz., enquiry, acceptance and consumption of food free from blemishes. Entering a village or a town, the Lord enquired about food prepared for householders. He accepted the food that was immune from blemishes. He consumed the food with his impulses perfectly controlled.
