Hridaya Roga - Karana and Nivarana

The question is: How to get rid of the causes of the heart disease? Emotional reactions can be kept under check. The way to do it is dhyana. Through the spiritual practice, it is possible to create a situation in which there is an awareness about equanimity or balance. With the awakening of the awareness about balance, there is less fear in one's mind and the situation of fearlessness is created.

Reciprocal emotional reactions are also brought under control. One gets the news about the sudden death of his good son. The person is overcome with grief after hearing the news. He becomes almost mad and is utterly perplexed. But there can also be a person who receives the news calmly. He is asked, "Your son has passed away. How do you feel about it?" That man says is a natural tone, "That was all the time I was destined to have him. He was a good son, but the situation did not favour." Why is there such a difference in experience and thinking? The difference is because of the state of consciousness. The person who lives with an awareness of equanimity is able to bear even such hard blows, which are such as thunderbolts.
