Hridaya Roga - Karana and Nivarana
From ancient times lot of thinking has been done about the diseases and health. There are internal and external factors of the bodies that cause the diseases, there are also internal and external factors are present for good health. If we properly understand the internal factors and develop a particular outlook about them, the problem can be solved to a considerable extent. When man has the power to live, he has also the power of resistance against the diseases.
The main basis of life is the prana-shakti. With its help, life goes on. Man is alive so long he has the vital energy. When the vital energy is gone, man dies, even if there is reason or there is no reason. Death can be both, because of some reason or without a reason.
We have two main pranas: they are prana-prana and the apana-prana. Any disorder in these pranas creates some disease or the other. When they are in good state, it means health. Although the prana is so vital for health, it has not been identified with the help of any mechanical instrument. It is not even possible to do it. The prana is subtle. One can identify the organ and can find out if there is any disorder in that organ. That is why in the modern age, thought is given to the diseases of the organs and they are being treated. The diseases are linked with the heart, the kidneys, the liver, etc.
