Published: 06.05.2007

The basis of Ayurveda is Rasayana. It is the greatest medical system. Chemicals destroy old age and disease. Innumerable types of rasayans were prepared. It was pointed out that conduct is the greatest chemical. If the conduct is not right, no other rasayana can be effective, and the patient cannot be restored to health even after administering numerous rasayana. In the context of health, the conduct cannot be disregarded.

In terms of the karma doctrine, happiness and unhappiness are related to the vedaniya karma. In terms of the ethics, it is related to the conduct.

Three types of karmas join together in the sensation of happiness and unhappiness the vedaniya karma, the nam-karma, and the mohaniya karma. The main among these is the vedaniya karma. The body experiences the sensations of happiness and unhappiness on the basis of these types of the karmas.
