The concept of the influence of the bhava on our health is still not clear. The reason is that the mind and the bhava have been regarded as one. In reality, they are completely different. We have created a whole lot of problems by recognizing them as one. It is necessary to understand the form of the bhava in order to understand the distinction between the bhava and the mind. According to Umasvati, Bhava Jivasya Satattvam - the bhava is a form of the jeeva. One of the bhavas is called audayika (state of soul resulting from realization) which results from karma. The soul is unknowable, intangible, abstruse and invisible. The bhava becomes a form of the jeeva.

There is a man. There is the body of man and sense organs. Lots of other things are linked with the sense organs. Why was this form created? How was it created? Its basis is the bhava. Hence, Umasvati's view that the bhava is the form of karma. Then there is the bhava called the rectification, and the annihilation of karma. Then there is also the bhava which follows its natural course. It is known as parinamik bhava. The bhava is thus divided into three types.
