Ligamentary tension is also very necessary. Without the ligamentary tension there would not be the right balance of the sinews, whether they are the sinews of the hands or the legs or the neck. If those sinews are not given some tension and not put to hard use, those particular organs would become useless. If the hands are not given some tension, they would become stiff or get contorted. If the sinews of the legs are not given tension, the result would be knee-pain and rheumatism. The concept of physiotherapy is included in the medical science today. Big hospitals have special departments of physiotherapy. There is only one thing that is recommended by the physiotherapist: Do yogic asanas, do some kind of physical exercise without fail. It is said that health would start deteriorating without doing these asanas and exercises. Do regular exercise in case of knee-pain otherwise the trouble would be aggravated. The elder brother of the respected Gurudev, Munishri Champalalji was on a tour of South India. He suffered from the knee-pain. A reputed orthopedist Dr. Dholakia was consulted. Munishri asked Dr. Dholakia that he had developed pains in his knees and whether he should continue his journey or not? Dr. Dholakia said: "Respected Munishri, please do not stop your tour. The sinews would continue getting tension as long as you continue walking, and so long, you would be able to walk." The day you stop walking, would be the end of your ability to walk. This ligamentary tension is necessary for the whole body. The yogic asanas and exercise activate every organ of the body.
