One day. Mrs. Bhagirath Mehta was going from Bamaniga to Ratlam. A horse-cart was standing there. Seeing her alone, the horse-cart driver asked her, “Madam! Where do you want to go?” She could not understand his evil intention and hired him for Ratlam. She asked the driver to take the shortest possible way, so that she could reach Ratlam as soon as possible. The intention of the driver was not good and she was quite ignorant about the way. He drove the cart into the forest. Seeing the lonely jungle, she was worried because she had never gone by that route.
She immediately thought that the driver was a fraud, so she ordered him to stop the cart. She was frightened because she was all alone. She was shivering out of fear and started reciting the Mantra, ‘Om Bhikshu.’ As soon as she got down from the cart, the driver began speaking obscene words and gave an ultimatum to kill her. But she was totally engrossed in chanting the Mantra without opening her eyes. She was praying Bhikshu Swami for her life.
As the driver tried to come near her, she saw that two saints—one old and one young were standing in front of her. Seeing them, she at once regained her lost courage. Hearing her voice, they came near her. When the old saint challenged the driver, he took to his heels. To her amazement, she saw that another horse-cart arrived there.
The old saint asked, “Where do you want to go?” She said, “I want to go to Dhanmandi. Kindly make some arrangement for me.” He said, “Get on this horse-cart. I will drop you there.”
As they reached Dhanmandi, she took out money from her purse to make the payment. But she was stunned because there was no sign of the saint and the horse-cart. Although this is a mystery even today, she is very confident that this miracle had occurred because of Bhikshu Swami.
