Kesinga is a town in Orissa. Near it is a small village called Uttakala. Khemchandji Jain lived there. He had a son named Vinod. He was 21 years old. His mother was eagerly waiting for his marriage, and his father expected that his educated son will earn a lot of money.
One day, suddenly Vinod suffered severe headache and had to lie down. His mother applied various treatments but all were in vain. More medicines he took, all the more pain increased. The pain was intolerable and he started shouting like a mad man. Despite administering a lot of medicine, there was no improvement. His parents were much perturbed to see such painful condition of their son. Sometimes he would laugh loudly without any reason and sometimes he would show dullness or sleep throughout the day. Gradually the situation worsened so much that he became destructive. Now his mother had to be extra careful with him.
While travelling in Orissa, Sadhvi Sonaji (Didawana) came to Uttakala. In order to take the alms, the nuns went to Khemchandji’s house and asked his wife, “Will you come to hear the sermon?” She became very sorry and said, “My twenty-one year old son has been sick for a very long time. The doctors have declared him mad. What should I do now? Normally we don’t get the chance to visit the nuns and monks, but this time when I can take the chance I am unable to avail it.”
Hearing about the sad and helpless state of the boy’s mother the nuns asked her, “Where is your son? We would like to see him.” When the nuns entered Vinod's room, they found it topsy-turvy. The whole room was giving the proof of his madness. His mother tried to awake him and said, “Open your eyes. The nuns have come to see you. I think your days are going to change and you will be alright. Get up, hurry up.”
Vinod woke up and stood up with folded hands before the nuns. They recited the holy Mantra for him and talked for a while. While going back, the nuns advised Vinod to chant the miraculous Mantra of ‘Om Bhikshu'.
He started chanting this Mantra regularly. His parents always saw him reciting this Mantra Consequently he stopped his incessant talking. His mind became steady.
After chanting the Mantra for four to five months his tension was over and his behaviour became normal. His madness had gone forever. He regained his normal state once again. His madness vanished by the powerful Mantra.
