Shree Ganeshmalji Kantheda of Asinda was 76 years old. Suddenly he felt an unbearable pain in his stomach on 12th Oct. 1985. On 15th Oct., he was hospitalised at Beawer. He was operated upon successfully by Dr. R. K. Mathur. On 18th Oct. at 2 o'clock, he was taking juice in the afternoon at 2 o’clock, when he felt that Acharya Bhikshu was standing in front of him and was asking, “What are you doing?”
Kanthedaji—“l is drinking the juice.”
Swamiji—“What will you do now?”
Kanthedaji—“I will do what you say.”
Swamiji—“Go on fast unto death.”
Kanthedaji—"I don’t recognise you. Who are you?”
Swamiji — “I am Bhikshu.” Saying this, he disappeared.
At the same time his son bought grapes from the market. He asked him to eat them. Kanthedaji said, “I have accepted the lifelong fast.” Hearing about this sudden change of mind, everyone wondered why he desired so. Each member of his family insisted upon him to take the grapes but he was firm. Gradually, he felt that his pain was decreasing. He insisted on going home. He was discharged from the hospital. He saw the nuns on the way and reached home. On 20th Oct. he saw Acharya Shree Tulsi in Amet. Acharya Shree did not allow him to go on fast. He came back to Asinda. Due to his firm determination, Muni Tarachandji made him renounce the food and water according to the order of Acharya Shree in the presence of thousands of people.
During the period of his life-long fast, he had to undergo many kinds of troubles caused by supernatural powers. But he felt that as soon as he chanted the Mantra, ‘Om Bhikshu’, his troubles vanished. In the afternoon of 25th Oct., Chandmalji Dugar Ranglalji and others were reading holy books for him. Suddenly, while going to bed he said, “Parasmalji and Sohanlalji have reached Amet but till now they could not have a talk with Acharya Shree.” When he uttered this, the clock had struck 1.40 a.m. During the night, a number of people were surrounding him. One of them said. “Chandanmalji and Ranglalji have not yet returned from Amet." "What happened? “Asked a person in the crowd. One of the men replied, “They have come and gone to see the monks.” At the same time a person came to Kanthedaji and instantly informed them that both of them have returned. When they reached Kanthedaji’s house, everybody asked them, “When did you reach Amet? When did you talk with Acharya Shree?”
They replied. “We reached at 1.40 a. m. and talked with Acharya Shree after an hour?”
Whatever Ganeshmalji Kanthedaji said was confirmed. On 26th Oct, at 8.50 p.m., he declared in the presence of many people, “I will die after two days and I will go to heaven and meet Swamiji. ” Exactly on 28th Oct., he passed away peacefully.
