Sadhvi Raikanwarji was famous by the name of “Goga Raikanwarji”. In those days she was travelling with her group in Maharashtra. That year they were going to spend their Chaturmas in Aurangabad. During their journey, they stopped at a village named Chalis. The next day, they were to cover a distance of 22 km., as there was no place suitable in the way where they could stay. Hardly had they travelled around 8-10 km., they saw a tigress sleeping on the left side of the road. A cub was playing beside her. Naturally, it was a scaring scene for the nuns. Their hearts trembled with fear and they were not able to move any further. They stopped there for about half an hour and chanted the Mantra, “Om Bhikshu”. Still the tigress lay there. The destination was far away. The hungry and thirsty nuns were feeling uneasy due to oppressive heat of summer. What could they do? They were facing a terrible situation.
Eventually, the head nun collected her courage and said, “The invisible power of Swamiji is with us. We have the power of our meditation too. Why are we afraid of ‘Life and Death’? Whatever has to happen, will happen. How long shall we stay in this forest?” Saying this Sadhvi Raikanwarji put her luggage on her shoulders and resumed her journey.
All the nuns followed her silently. At that time they saw that the tigress awakened and was standing there. Again the nuns trembled with fear. Though generally the monks and nuns don’t speak a single word while walking, the frightened nuns chanted the Mantra, “Om Bhikshu. Om Bhikshu”.
The tigress had a look at the nuns as if to pay obeisance to them and turned back. The cub was following her. The nuns were mentally puzzled for few seconds but soon realized that the miraculous name of ‘Bhikshu Swami’ was giving them courage and saving them from imminent danger.
