Once Sadhvi Jayshreeji along with her group was going towards Ichalkaranji from Jaysinghpur. She had a night halt in a school situated far from the village. It was cold and the school building was in poor condition. There was a watchman in the school. She asked him for a place to stay. He replied, “You can stay here, but I will not be responsible for your safety.” As they were accompanied by a guide, she decided to stay in the school.
After completing their daily routine, they were ready to sleep. One of the nuns said, “The shutters of the door are very loose and the windowpane are broken. If someone kicks them, it can easily fall down.” But they were helpless having no other alternative.
The watchman and the guide were sleeping in the corridor. But due to the severe cold they went into the other room. A feeling of fear haunted their mind. They had even tied a piece of cloth on the loose shutters. Though they were very tired, they were not able to have a sound sleep due to lurking fear. It was almost twelve o’clock when the Sadhvis heard the voices of four-five men standing outside. They were speaking in a very unpleasant way. Hearing them talking in this way, all of them started chanting the Mantra.
The youth asked, “Who is inside? Open the door.” The nuns remained mum. Again they said, “We have to take water from inside, so open the door.” Saying this, they tried to break the door. Sadhvi Jayshreeji said courageously, “There is no water inside the room, so we won’t open the room until sunrise.” It seemed that all of them were forcing to open the door. Since, it was a solitary place; the feeling of fear had been continuously harassing the nun’s minds. They even called out for the guide and the watchman, but they were having sound sleep in the room. It seemed to be an incident of pleasure and wonder that such loose shutter-doors didn’t break, even against such a great force by those youths. Approximately after one and a half hour, trial the youths got exhausted and turned away. Nuns continued the recitation of the Mantra for the whole night and thus revived mental peace and strength. They realised how powerful the name of Swamiji is! They felt that they were not at all alone in the forest.
