The glands with internal secretion have also very close connection with the asanas. Man maintains good health to the extent that the internal secretion of the gland is correct. The question before us is not merely that of physical health, but also of mental and emotional health. If the internal secretion of the glands is well balanced, mentally and emotionally too man remains balanced. The body undoubtedly remains healthy. One of the glands is called thyroid. The whole process of speaking as well as the process of metabolism originates from this gland. This gland is closely related to health. Thyroid affects a large number of diseases. Many persons have to suffer on that account. In the case of some people the thyroid is more active, whereas in the case of others, it is more inactive. This problem can be solved if the sarvangasana (a particular yogic asana involving all parts of the body) is practised in the prescribed manner. Many people were asked to practise this asana at the Prekshadhyana Camp. Their thyroid problem was solved.

A Prekshadhyana Camp was being held at Ahmedabad a few years ago. A woman who was attending the camp said: “Maharaj! The secretion of my thyroid gland is not balanced and regular. I underwent several treatments, but to no effect.” She was asked to do certain experiments at the camp. That woman felt healthy. She said: “I have now with me the key to keep the thyroxin secretion balanced.” She derived a great benefit out of that experiment.
