The definition of Anuvrat is - to enforce discipline on oneself by oneself.
Self discipline is the principle element of spiritualism.
What should one discipline: desires, instincts, senses, mind, or worldly behaviour?

Actually the dictates of behaviour become the subjects for discipline.
Do that which is acceptable to society and not that which is not acceptable.
This will be accepted as self discipline.

Fulfill the desires of the senses and the mind and that will not be considered self discipline.
The sutra for discipline lies within but its practice is in the outer world, and that is why the conflict never ends.
