Food well eaten: Eating is necessary to sustain life.
But restraint in food is as essential as eating itself.
Indulgence in food is not good.
Prohibition of rich food and discretion concerning the quantity of food - is food well eaten.
To eat less than your fill, to observe fast - these are signs of food well eaten.
One who has learnt to assess the attributes of good eating will progress faster along his spiritual practice.
