An important tool for success is hard work.
Its synonym is veerya (valour).

Mahavira attached a lot of value to hard work.
To understand that, one has to understand the comprehensive form of veerya.

Every human being lives with veerya.
Accumulation of knowledge takes place with veerya.
The character develops with veerya.
Religious austerities too begin with veerya.
No continuity is possible without veerya.
A famous Prakrit sukta says:

Na hu veeriyapariheeno pavatatte naanamaadisu.
