24th May
In hot summer, the wafting cool breeze feels pleasant.
The same breeze seems unpleasant in winter.
Pleasantness and unpleasantness are relative terms.
In absolute terms (ekanta), nothing is pleasant or unpleasant.
The famous saying is: In hunger even bread (roti) seems sweet.
On being satisfied, even sweets do not taste good.
Music is sweet to the ears.
But if a person running a fever of 105' F is made to hear music, it will not seem sweet to him.
According to the time and place, something gets labelled as good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant.
In the language of Ekanta, or in isolation, one can not decide on what is pleasant or unpleasant.
