For the creation of a balanced healthy society, it is essen­tial to develop such a personality which has no negative emotions like anger, ego, fraud and greed. Only such persons will serve the society, country and the world rising from their narrow limits. The more the developed will be the memory of those people, the more will be their capacity to imbibe the knowledge. Their future planning and their implementation will be on the basis of available knowledge.

Causes of Amnesia

  1. Excess cough and restricted cough in the body (Constipation).
  2. The habit of sitting in a bended spine posture.
  3. Excess sleep and lethargy.
  4. Lack of concentration in self-study.
  5. Attraction and more engaged in entertaining activities.
  6. Brain disorder or limited development of the brain.
  7. The pressure of negative attitude like, 'I can't remember'.
  8. No repetition of the matter, which is being preserved in the mind.
  9. Undeveloped or less developed brain because of heredity.
  10. Afflicted with ego, anger, fear, worry, stress and hastiness.

Practical Measures for Memory Development

  1. To control and not to allow the cough - nature of body to increase.
  2. Always sit with a erect spine so that the Ida, Pingala and Sushumna nerves always remain healthy.
  3. To create interest and awareness towards learning and self-study.
  4. The matter to be memorized should be repeated again and again. To be in communication with and discussion with the people who have balanced personality.
  5. Memorize the necessary subjects in the form of points after study.
  6. Practise moderate speech so that the energy of the brain is not wasted unnecessarily.
  7. To adopt the positive feelings like, 'my memory is good,'
  8. To set up the goal and take interest in it.
  9. Never to waste time in useless matters. To adopt time management.
  10. To have the solution for freedom from ego, anger, fear, worry, tension, stress and hastiness etc.
  11. Even the heredity can be changed to certain extent by the strong resoluteness.

Practical Methods for Memory Development

  1. Sitting Posture - Sit keeping the spine straight in any posture in which you feel comfortable.
  2. Gyan Mudra - Join the tips of the index finger and thumb of both the hands and place on knees in such a way that the lower part of the palm touches the knees.
  3. Mahaprana dhvani - Recite three times before going to bed as well as immediately after waking up and recite 9 times before sitting for study.
  4. Asana - Practise Yogmudra, Sarvangasana and Shashakasana regularly in the morning for 10 minutes with empty stomach.
  5. Meditation - Meditate at Gyan Kendra with bright yellow colour like sunflower.
  6. Bhavana - In the night while going to bed, relax the body and assume -"My memory power is increasing. Neurons are be­ing activated and they are becoming healthy".
  7. Bandha - Apply Jalandhar bandha and meditate with yellow colour at temples for 3 minutes.
  8. Chanting - Chant Namo Nananassa (I bow down to knowledge) while sleeping in the night for 5 minutes.
