Both materialism and spiritualism are greatly discussed topics of today.
There are many interpretations to them.
We have tried to define them simply.

To say that this object is mine - is materialism.
To say that this object is not mine - is spiritualism.

The starting point of materialism is possessiveness and the desire to posses, that which is not one's own.
The starting point of spiritualism is detachment or to be free from possessions and desires of possessing.

Without understanding the definitions of materialism and spiritualism,
one cannot bring about a balance between them in life.
