People often say that this man's conduct is very lax and the other man's very strict.
What is the definition of being lax or strict?
Can we understand the meaning of lax and strict if we do not define them first?
By just repeating the words, one can not catch their essence.

The person who does not follow the accepted code of conduct is known as the one who is lax.
The one who staunchly follows the accepted code of conduct is known as the strict one.

A person can not be assessed as strict or lax in comparison with another.
It has to be understood in relation to the accepted norms of conduct.
