Thought At Sunrise: Thought at Sunrise 145

20th May

Youth and wealth are not of the same form.
I have seen a divine looking boy in his youth.
As age caught up with him, he was engulfed by ailments.
Nobody could recognise him as the same young man.

When I saw a wealthy man and later saw him again after the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi had left him,
I felt - it is not wealth alone that has gone, his very form and carriage seemed to have left him.

His samskar and behaviour too had undergone change.
To have pride in this mortal state is exaggerated imprudence.
