Is external stimulus strong, or is the mind?
Even though external stimulus exerts great influence, in comparison to the mind, its power is still secondary.
If the mind is weak, external stimulus does take on the primary role.
Otherwise it is the mind that is the primary source of power.
So, much as we may try to guard ourselves from external stimulus, the ultimate solution lies in strengthening the mind.
