One who makes himself useful tends to become the centre of attraction.
Whereas one who does not make himself useful, tends to loose attention.
Do not worry about being the centre of attraction, just concentrate on remaining useful.
If you do so, nobody can ignore you.
But if you do not make yourself useful and still want to draw attention to yourself, is the effort justified?
