Why is a man not able to recognise his bonds?
The answer to this question can not be looked for in the material world, nor can it be accessed through the activities of the senses.
The material world has influenced man's consciousness so deeply that he is not able to recognise even himself.
When he can not recognise himself, how can he - recognise the bonds that tie him down?
To know oneself is to know one's bondages.
