Time or muhurta is a great influencing factor.
It is related to success and failure.
According to the Jain viewpoint, man, space, time and state are the instrumental cause of an incident.

One time period is conducive to success while another is not.
This is not the material cause, or the root cause.
Instrumental causes have a big role to play in material causes.

A one sided view may sometimes reject the instrumental cause and at other times the material cause.
The right attitude is to accept both.
